Dr. Fahmid Al Farid

Dr. Fahmid Al Farid is Research Director and Principal Investigator of Applied Perception. He is a Faculty Lecturer (Assistant Professor) in the Faculty of Computer Science & Informatics at the Berlin School of Business and Innovation (BSBI) in Berlin.

His research covers computer vision, deep learning and applied AI, with interests in medical imaging, smart farming, robotics, explainable AI, federated learning and intelligent industrial systems. His published work includes vision-based hand gesture and activity recognition, deep learning for crowd analysis during the Hajj pilgrimage, crop and leaf disease detection, and explainable deep learning for medical images. He has worked in Germany, Malaysia, South Korea and Bangladesh, and teaches computer vision, machine learning, robotics and AI ethics.
